Dander For Deirdre

On the 23^rd August 2017 Deirdre Patterson was diagnosed with a Grade IV glioblastoma. She underwent surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She remained very positive and showed great courage throughout her journey, but sadly on the 10^th December 2018 she passed away.

Deirdre was a keen walker and one of her favourite routes was in the vicinity of her home in Newry, ‘Cotter’s Rock’.  The family decided that in her memory they would walk the route and organise, ‘a dander for Deirdre’ to raise money for BrainwavesNI.  On Saturday the 29^th June the local community, family and friends came together and enjoyed a beautiful evening.

It was a great event and they managed to raise £2000 for Brainwaves.  They also raised £2000 for the Southern Area Hospice Services.
