Gary Reid
Gary Reid is a 64 year old from Carrickfergus and is a very motivated fundraiser. He is a social member of Carrickfergus Cricket Club and so knew their President Gordon Browne quite well. Sadly, on 18 th June 2018 Gordon passed away exactly 2 years to the date of being diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumour.
A Eurospar owner, Brendan McKee, had given Gary a bike to use however he seen fit to raise money for a charity of his choice. He decided on 15 th July 2018 to sell raffles in the club as there was a full house for the World Cup Final. At half time he drew the winner and managed to raise a fabulous £400.
One of Gordon’s dying wishes was to raise lots of money for Brainwaves NI therefore Gary decided that this would be his charity of choice in honour of Gordon.
