Brainwaves NI is Northern Ireland’s only volunteer led brain tumours research and support charity

Research is fundamental to finding a cure for brain tumour. We have a strong relationship with the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, Queen’s University, Belfast.

Over the last number of years we have provided over £500,000 funding towards that vital research.

Steve Harris

Treasurer

My name is Steve Harris and I am the Treasurer & a committee member of Brainwaves NI.
I live with my wife Carol who still has some of her meningioma brain tumour in place.

Carol was diagnosed in December 2014 and had her Craniotomy surgery performed in April 2015 by Mr Abouharb.
They could only remove some of it due to its location so she is living with this constantly.

We met up with Brainwaves in 2015 and had a great time chatting with other members at events as well as the support from the charity through our difficult
times.

As the charity has no funding from anyone I felt that I should now give something back to them, so I joined the committee in 2018 and became treasurer in 2019.
